DESIGN
Corsair Nightsword RGB
The Corsair Nightsword RGB has a gaming-oriented design. It’s a big-sized mouse that has a lot of buttons and many RGB zones. It has a rubber kind of material on the palm and thumb rests, a matte finish on the main click buttons, and a glossy design around the frame. Even with all of the possible weights, the Corsair Nightsword is quite heavy. It has three 4.5g and three 2.7g weights. The Corsair Nightsword’s build quality is great. Its overall design feels very sturdy, and the additional rubber makes it easy to grip. There are no rattling parts or wobbling parts, but the feet feel standard and glide very well. Its heavy weight gives it a hefty feel.
The ergonomics of the Corsair Nightsword favor right-handed users. It has a great form and works well with a palm or claw grip. A good slope to the right is also present, with a comfortable thumb resting on the left side. People with small hands should look for an alternative mouse because some buttons, regardless of grip, may be difficult to reach. Because of its form, this mouse could be used by left-handed people; however, the side buttons may be difficult to use.
The ten buttons on the Corsair Nightsword are completely programmable, but you can quickly switch between profiles and CPI settings out of the box. A sniper button can also be assigned to a certain CPI. The buttons are completely solid, albeit there is some pre-travel on the two buttons on the left click.
Corsair GLAIVE PRO
The Corsair GLAIVE PRO is a substantial wired mouse. The weight can be adjusted slightly by selecting different side panels, though this does not make a significant impact. This mouse appears to be well-made. The mouse as a whole feels quite robust, with no flex or wobble, and the removable side panels stay in place very well. The buttons are fairly robust, though our unit’s L/R click buttons seemed weak and loose. Still, this could be unique to our unit, and it’s unlikely to be evident in normal use. This mouse is quite easy to use. The mouse comes with three alternative side panels, so you may vary the grip type or add a thumb rest to suit your needs.
The Corsair GLAIVE PRO offers a simple gaming design, with decent quality matte plastic on top and rubber grips on the sides. The mouse comes with three alternative side panels that allow you to add a thumb rest or select different grip textures. While we tested the black model, it is also available in aluminum. The Corsair GLAIVE PRO has two additional re programmable side buttons in addition to every other button.
GRIP
Corsair Nightsword RGB
People with small hands may struggle to control the mouse due to its very lengthy design with a lovely back hump. It may be difficult to reach the sniper and forward side buttons. People with small hands, particularly those who utilize a palm grip, may struggle to grasp and control the mouse efficiently. Some buttons are also more difficult to reach. This mouse is not intended for fingertip use and will be too large for most users. Very large hands, on the other hand, can pull it off, but it won’t be as stable as a claw or palm grip.
Corsair GLAIVE PRO
With the thumb rest side panel attached, this mouse is palm-friendly for everyone except those with extra-large hands, as their fingers will likely hang over the front. Every hand size should be able to claw grip this mouse comfortably with the thumb rest side panel connected. Except for individuals with little hands, everyone should be able to fingertip hold this mouse with the thumb rest side panel added. Small hands may find the mouse too bulky to comfortably reach all of the buttons.
PERFORMANCE
Corsair Nightsword RGB
Good for the job. It includes a great thumb rest and a comfortable form that provides superb ergonomics. The mouse is similarly well-made; however, its wire can be bothersome and easily caught on desk supplies. The wired click latency of the Corsair Nightsword is quite low, and most users will not feel any delay. The mouse is sensitive. The scroll wheel of the Corsair Nightsword has very soft increments but a rubbery feel that makes it sticky.
Corsair GLAIVE PRO
The Corsair GLAIVE PRO mouse is ideal for business or multimedia applications. You may modify the shape and feel of the grip by utilizing the three provided side panels, so everyone should be able to acquire a good hold. With claw grip, it’s suitable for all hand sizes, but palm grip is likely to be difficult for extra-large hands. There are two programmable side buttons to assist you in swiftly traversing your business programs, and the mouse is quite well-built. The click latency is quite minimal, and even competitive gamers should not experience any lag. The mouse wheel is subpar because it lacks a horizontal wheel and L/R tilt buttons. Large ridges on the scroll wheel make distinct clicks.
SOFTWARE
Corsair Nightsword RGB
On both Windows and macOS, the iCUE program allows for extensive customization. You can also change the location of the weights to fine-tune the mouse’s performance. You also don’t have to reinstall it on another computer because your settings are preserved in the mouse’s onboard memory. This mouse can be used and modified on both Windows and macOS, making it an excellent choice for a flexible mouse.
Corsair GLAIVE PRO
The Corsair iCUE software is fantastic and offers a plethora of customizing choices. This mouse also has onboard memory, so you may personalize it and save your settings if you use it on a different computer. Because the companion software can be installed on both macOS and Windows, you have access to the same customization choices regardless of your operating system.
CONCLUSION
The Glaive RGB Pro outperforms the Corsair Nightsword RGB I reviewed last month, but the Ironclaw RGB remains the best overall value for money.
